Meizu M8 Mini One Becomes Blacker and Cheaper

October 31st, 2007

Still I’m thinking if our favorite Iphone clone, the Meizu M8, will ever make it to the stores. Apparently the M8 again undergoes a face lift not for being more iPhone but for doing the opposite. No shiny, metallic edges neither the rear iPod charcoal shading, even the screen has fattened from 3.3″ to 3.4″ .

Meizu M8 Mini One Becomes Blacker and Cheaper

The M8 sporting a black plastic bezel making it look more like an iPod Touch now. Still scheduled for the December release, a slightly revised price list to start the holiday season at $265 (4GB), $320 (8GB) and $400 (16GB). Sure the prices ain’t cheap but still you don’t have to bear a 2 or 3 year contract with some lousy cellphone operator.

Meizu M8 Interface Is a iPhone Ripoff!

September 21st, 2007

Meizu M8 Interface Is a iPhone Ripoff!

Meizu yesterday came up with the M7 right after a week the announcement of iPod. It was close to the iPod in design, functionalities. Today  CEO J.Wong posted new interface shots of the M8 on there company forums. Now don’t tell me you even copied the interface…….heck!     Don’t get surprised , it’s the same as iPhone, just about everything! You can expect touchscreen designs to be around same. But the possibilities of the UI being same thats really odd. Hey copying is fine, but should atleast confess you are taking some inspiration from iPhone. Expect guerrilla wars this fall between Steve and Wong.

It didn’t take long for Meizu to make something comparable to the iPod touch that just starting to ship. Meizu officially announced the M7, the iPod touch look alike. Keeping the price range at a low $100, $110, and $150 for the 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB models respectively. But will it be just another wannabe iPod killer(which we know it will be) …what do you think?

Teclast T59 yet another iPhone Purist

February 18th, 2007

                     Teclast T59 Windows CE-based 3G device

Meizu isn’t the only one that urges their users to through up design ideas. Telclast upcoming T59 looks damn familiar to us. Thou this are just concept render still we have a feeling this is the real deal. If these render’s are not fake then the Teclast T59 is a 3G device powered by Windows CE. This boy is good with a 3.5″VGA display for all those video buffs, you can play  3GP, MPEG-2,MPEG-4,DivX, XviD, 3ivX,  RM, RMVB, MP4 and H264, even plays VOB’s.  It got great music playback capabilities with support for Mp3, OGG, AAC, WAV, APE and  FLAC. Besides this FM radio and connectivity options like GPS,  WiFi. Hey but it still looks too familiar with that iPhone. Apple never mind of competition they know their stuffs are industry changing.

Meizu’s CEO says”We Didn’t Copy The iPhone That Much”

February 15th, 2007

Meizus CEO saysWe Didnt Copy The iPhone That Much

Meizu’s CEO denies the that the design ideas of M8 phone and the entire Miniplayer series have been taken from the iPhone. Well everyone seems to deny they didn’t copied from the iPhone.

This is what the CEO had to say. Although he doesn’t like the M8 to be called a copycat still he admits the design ideas are similar(i wonder how did you thought of that design only after everyone got a peekaboo on the iPhone.) Guess what! they announced the M8 four days before the January 9 iPhone announcement at Macworld. He adds that the designs were already public in 2006, but after checking out the iPhone in January they decided they need to again go to the drawing board.
